Description
The two white stripes at each end are painted over with white paint on the front side.
The painting is part of a group of 20 works dating from 1966 to 1977, having belonged to the collector Marc Martin-Malburet, conceived, in December of 1995, as one new work, indivisible, installed on two walls facing each other, in the exhibition, "Passions privées", at the Musée d'art moderne de la Ville de Paris.
Since the reopening of the museum after remodeling, in 2006, the 20 works are presented on one single wall, opposite "La Danse", 1931-1933, by Matisse.
