Descriptif

Tournage par Gerry Schum, du recouvrement progressif – et sans autorisation – par Daniel Buren d’un panneau publicitaire à l’angle de Kirchfeld Strasse et Cornelius Strasse avec des feuilles de papier rayé blanc et bleu, chacune ± de 55 par 75 cm.

Principe : après la pose de chaque nouvelle feuille encollée, enregistrement en plan fixe pendant 10 secondes de l’ensemble du panneau, jusqu’à son recouvrement total.

45 papiers ayant été nécessaires, la durée de la cassette vidéo est donc de 45 fois 10 secondes.
Le principe de cette vidéo, "Recouvrement-effacement", conçue pour Gerry Schum a été réalisée trois fois, à Düsseldorf (1971), à Venise (1972) et à Florence avec Art/Tapes/22 (1974).
