Exhibition in two parts: Showing of the same video titled "Identifications" - bringing together the works of twenty artists - at the Kunstverein at the same time as the televised show which had the same title.
Daniel Buren's creation comes in the middle of the video shown on television. It consisted of simulating - in the middle of the program and after his name is announced - a broadcast interruption, showing scrambled video on the screen, followed by the appearance of a static image generally used by the station in such cases, mentioning the word "Storung" (Disturbance). After these 48", the program resumed.
The technicians at the television station, not knowing about this creative intervention in advance, showed they were very unhappy by what they thought was an 'error' which could be blamed on them.
The television viewers were never cognizant of seeing an artistic work, thinking of this disturbance as an incident that prevented showing the work and not as the artistic work itself.

Daniel Buren's creation comes in the middle of the video shown on television. It consisted of simulating - in the middle of the program and after his name is announced - a broadcast interruption, showing scrambled video on the screen, followed by the appearance of a static image generally used by the station in such cases, mentioning the word "Storung" (Disturbance). After these 48", the program resumed.
The technicians at the television station, not knowing about this creative intervention in advance, showed they were very unhappy by what they thought was an 'error' which could be blamed on them.
The television viewers were never cognizant of seeing an artistic work, thinking of this disturbance as an incident that prevented showing the work and not as the artistic work itself.",
